well i just upgraded my speed from 150k to 600k,only i dont seem to notice a difference in speed,is this only evident when dloading files and stuff? Also is there any tests that i could do to ensure my connection is properley configured!

well the results were 403.52kbps,second time was worse at 198.72.

i already have this installed but it dosnt give you an option for 600k only an option for 512k

That is true, but it still gives you a good indecation of the speed you are useing, it's just that it may say you are running faster than expected. Just look at the figures not the comments.

Also Remember contention ratios - if other people using same slot remember it is 600 k divided by number of actual users

real confused now,one test is way below average the next is average,is there nothing i can do to check my modem and connection settings to make sure its all set up like its meant to be?

1st 128K took 1812 ms = 72336 Bytes/sec = approx 602 kbits/sec
2nd 128K took 2063 ms = 63535 Bytes/sec = approx 529 kbits/sec
3rd 128K took 1593 ms = 82280 Bytes/sec = approx 685 kbits/sec
4th 128K took 1797 ms = 72939 Bytes/sec = approx 607 kbits/sec
