ntfs.sys file missing

problem that I had before returned only this time I don't have the option to start as in last thread - that option has been rplaced by 'Directory Services restore mode'(windows domain controllers only) whic hwill go no further than the option to insert cd and press r for repair

and of course no CD with me - So no way to get to safe mode

You could use a NTFS disk reader NTFS4DOS from click here

Download the file install it in your current PC make the bootable Floppy
This will read a NTFS hard drive you can then copy the file from the i386 folder and replace the missing /corrupt file in system32\drivers\Ntfs.sys

downloaded NTFS4DOS and set up disc
but the problem then arises that DOS only recognises so many charachters read files from long directory trees

Anyway trusty laptop saved the day till the weekend when I will be prepared with the right disk for the job ;)
