Start > Run > Copy and Paste:

diskmgmt.msc

Click ok. You should see the ME partiton. Right click and choose DELETE.

There is your new partiton. Format by right clicking the partiton and choosing FORMAT.

Do you have the Windows XP boot loader, to select which operating system to boot into?

To get rid of this.

Start > Run > Copy and Paste:

C:\boot.ini

Click ok and remove the line under "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect"

So you should just have:

[boot loader]

timeout=30

default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition" /fastdetect

Save it and reboot.

Make backups of everything you value just in case.

In the boot.ini file there should be no spaces between the lines.
