Hi there,

I have just bought a new laptop, and connected it to a wireless connection. It seems everytime connect to the internet a notification sounds every 10 secs, but I havent a clue where it is coming from or what its for?

Have anyone got any suggestions?

Go into your sound scheme from the Sounds and Audio Settings in Control Panel. Scroll through the list of events and play the sound of any events that might be occuring at those intervals. You should soon find the culprit.

Alternatively, for quick fix, switch your scheme to No Sounds.

hi i have tracked it down to "typing (with touch pad tap enable)???

In that case, just change the sound for that event to "no sound". Clicking on it will allow you to pick from the list.

will do, but do you know why it is making that sound?

You mean why it's set that way and why someone thought it needed to exist? Not really, no! Just one of those weird things I guess.
