Can anyone tell me what it is,or means, and how can I stop it?

Did you use Method 1 or 2?

  SB23 22:14 27 Dec 05

No 2,couldn't find what I needed for no 1,but because it didn't work I put the ticks back, rebooted. So why has my screen gone doo-lally.

Go back into msconfig and retick what you unticked.

Have done already.
Under the general tab - Normal startup is selected
Under the startup tab they are all ticked

Is the current problem in only Mrs SB23's account or yours as well?

Am not getting the notepad, but my screen has gone aswell, and cannot be re-adjusted,infact on these settings it's hard to see anything, half the screen is black and flickering.

Go into Device Manager, find your graphics card, right click and select Update Drivers.
