Notebook help needed

hi can anyone please advise? Samsung VM7000 series notebook,Is the hard drive dead?
upon boot up it only goes as far as the Samsung logo and at the bottom of the page it says (Press F2> to enter setup or ESC> for multi-boot menu.
Now if i choose F2> option all i get is (Entering SETUP) and it just stays like that and nothing else happens. option ESC> just show the basics of the machine ie.
CPU

SYSTEM RAM

MOUSE INITIALISED

ETC. ETC.
Again with the option to press F2> can anyone help please

have you tried booting with your anti-virus boot disks? and what happens when you try booting with a standard boot disk?

what OS are you using?

Thanks for your reply, and sorry i have not answered your suggestion sooner.
I cannot any floppies boot or otherwise to be recognised.i have heard that it could be a bios virus, and it needs to be cleared from inside, but i have no idea how this is done,i take out the screws /battery and hdd,but it seems like something still holding it together.
Have you ever opened a notebook?
