Notebook, Camcorder and DVD Recorder +/- or both?

Whilst working on a website for my local junior school, I have been offered funds by the governing body to help with it. I propose to look at purchasing a laptop and DV Camcorder to video edit to add content to the website. However I also would like to get a DVD write/rewriter to store full version of events, not just snippets that will be on the website. Question is which format of DVD is best, ie which will win + or -? I will be using a Panasonic NV-GS50B or 70B, both of which will have DV-In/Out and a laptop with an AMD 2400+ Mobile chip, 40GB hard drive and 512MB ram, USB 2.0 and Firewire conectors. Any suggestions?

Buy one of the multidrives that are now available that burn + & -R/RW.

Sony, NEC, Pioneer and Freecom all make them see click here for example
