note to virgin customers

currently virgin are having problems and customers can receive emails but cannot send them, virgin have advised me to use click here and log into your account to send,

it is also worth checking your inbox and span folder while there, I have 1988 messages in my inbox and 974 in my spam folder, so worth a clean out, I had not thought out these folders before so it came as a shock

still not working for me, get the following message:

Right maybe because I use another e-mail provider using my NTL e-mail address.
I take it you are using Virgins own e-mail whatever it is.
It should be the same settings mind you.
Did you check service outage as it may only be in your district.

thanks buteman, I have 3 @ntlworld.com address's
one for family, one for work and one for web use, ie this forum, plus wife has one, all the have the same problem
virgin did say there was a problem but did not specify an area
thanks VoG, I am in the north east so it may just be my area,
settings must be right or I could not receive them

just double checked and it says:

What I hate is when you phone up and are put through to one of the foreign call centers and you are on the phone for about 20 minutes trying to get help before they find out that it is a local repair problem.
I am sure they would get far more customers if they done away with the foreign call centers.

No problems at my end (Essex) today at all, although I still use my old AOL e-mail address through Virgin.
