Im trying to open a file I downloaded from a friend but I keep getting the error msg 'cannot open not a valid win.32 application' what does this mean?

It means you can't open a the application unless you can convert it to Win 32bit. I take it you Win XP as your OS. The sender must have Win 98 or ME..

I have win ME anyway of converting this file or will I simply not be able to open it?
