Not turning on

I have just bought a new computer for my girlfriends mother. Up until now it has been working fine but today i got a phone call saying it wouldnt turn on. When she presses the power button the fan starts, spins for a few seconds, everything is as it should be, then everything just stops. This happens everytime she presses the power button.

Has anyone got any idea whats going on? Its only a month old so obviously if i cant fix it i will be sending it back as it is still under warranty but as im heading over tonight to have a look i would like to try my best to get it going.

I bought it from pc option.co.uk this is the first problem ive had.

Thanks

Sounds to me like an overheating CPU. Whatever it is it's likely to be internal and I think you might have issues regarding the guarantee if you open the case.
