I have two comps, both have this same sound that goes off occasionally, it sound like a spring leaf in a relay. It does it at any time, not a specific or regular interval. As if it was a overheat Bi-metal thermostat. But temps are way down both on CPU and system. Comes from System cabinet

I've got one that does this intermittently and I think it's from the power supply. It may be some sort of internal regulation cutout more to do with it's healthy running than any overheat condition since, like yours, the computer is running well within spec.

I've continued on the basis of "If it ain't bust, don't fix it".

Thank's for that I was sure someone else would have the Problem. I would think you are right on that, It does not cause any problems is just a bit off putting when it does it.

I think that Flecc as hit the point it's more than likely in the PSU
