No matter what source, unable to load MS DOS 16 BIT progs into computer with the following message:

"NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction"

This normally accompanied by selection of numbers and letters which change if you ignore problem - I presume that indicates that several illegal instructions have been found. Can anyone help please?

There is no DOS in Win XP so how can you expect them to load. You need to dual boot with Win98se and run them from there
