Not Enough DMA

Trying to make a recalcitrant soundcard work I did a clean reinstall. Had a look in Device Manager and noted that for Yamaha OPL-SAx Reserved it said no driver is installed for this device. Installed the driver and towards the end of the installation a Yamaha OPL-SAx Hardware Configuration Window appears giving some options. When I click OK to the defaults I get an error message saying "There are no avaialble DMA channels. The sound card will not work".

Can this be cured and how do I cure it?

To enable DMA go to Device manager and click on IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, then right-click on drives/Properties/Advanced Settings/, and check DMA if available. If needs be enable in BIOS too.
