Not Booting up occasionally

Hi everyone I was wondering if you kind folk can help me with an annoying problem on my computer when I press the power on button to boot up.Machine spec.is ASUS p5n32sli mobo 4gig ram vista ultimate this problem did not appear until I added an extra 2gig of ram bought via the Crucial website ,now this problem DOES NOT happen every time I boot up probably 3 or 4 times out of 10 when it does happen I dont even get to the mobo. splash screen there is just nothing if I yhen hopld the power button in to knock the machine off wait 20 /30 seconds and try again it mostly boots up normally again continues to work really well
Im stumped
can anybody give me some pointers

Try taking out the memory you put in and see if the problem still exists. Vista 32bit will not see 4gb of RAM.

thanks for that Ditch999 I have taken the extra 2 gig out and the machine boots up normally every time , so yes it obviously points to the extra memory but why does it not boot up properly every time with the extra memory installed.
