Not all computers connecting to ADSL

Got a strange fault with my 3com modem router. I have 3 pcs (2 XP & Mac OSX) which network and access the internet through it.The network is cabled and the router creates the IP's for the 3 PCS. The PC that was used to access the router to originally set everything up can access the internet all the time. Sometimes either of the other 2 cannot access the internet, this fault is intermittant, although they can always see each other on the network. Also if this happens the original setup PC may still be able to connect without any problem. turning off the firewalls do not make any diffference. The only solution is to restart the router. I have reset and set it up again from scratch without any effect to the fault. As I say the odd thing is that it is intermittant but always happens when someone tries to connect to the internet after switching on. The local network always sees other computers.
