Not able to save anything to partition

  Chris Webster 20:42 18 Sep 06

A mate has asked me a question and I don't know the answer.

He has a 20GB partition that he cannot save anything to. When saving anything it only gives him the option of saving to his 'C' drive. When he looked in Disk Management the 'C' drive shows as normal but the 'D' partition says "Logical Drive Data D", I don't know if it should say this or not.

He's been trying to install some video editing software and wants it on the 'D' partition as there's not enough room on his 'C' drive.

Failing that is there a way of getting rid of the partition and getting his hard drive back to one size?

He's on Win XP Home.

Thanks, Chris.

Has the partition been formatted?

While in disk management, why not click on it and try to format?

Diodorus Siculus,

I'll ask him when I see him tomorrow.

Thanks, Chris.

Try to format it again then if there is no data on it.
