norton security center problem

Hello everyone

I have just started my p.c and the norton security center has appeared in my task bar saying windows firewall is switched off.

When i go to the control panel and windows firewall, it won't allow me into it and displays the following message...

"windows firewall settings canont be displayed because the associated service is not running"
do you want to start the windows/firewall internet connection sharing (ics) service?

when i click yes it says "windows canot find the
internet connection sharing (ics) service.

any help much appreciated.

My os is xp

If your Norton Security system has a firewall of its own, then it will probably arrange for the windows firewall to be switched off by default, as there should only ever be one firewall running on a system
