Norton or Microsofts Defrag??? which one?

  AdventCalendar 10:17 02 May 03

I always used to defrag using microsofts own internal defrag, but since buying systemworks ive started using that......

I dont know if its just me being paranoid, but Nortons seems to make things a bit slower????

Any advice?

I takes longer to do, but I havn't found that it slows the system down after it's completed.

It seems to do a more thorough job that the MS bundled one.

Try Diskeeper Lite, much quicker, and its free.

The NSW defragger is better than M$. Initially it may take longer but thereafter it's faster. It rearranges the accessibility of data to front.

It really doesn't matter - they both have their own ideas on how to do it, and no doubt each will work better dependant on how you use your system. Use whichever seems to give you the best results.

diskeeper!can run auto,in background or on demand-no need to close programmes.
I found norton cr*p-sensor would say 90% fragged after a day!
