Norton Internet Security problem

I have just done a Recovery on a "Time" PC using the CD it came with, and restored the XP Home on to it with all relvant drivers etc. , and I also added XP Service Pack 1 to it.

Then I loaded Norton Internet Security 2004 and activated it successfully. No problem so far. Now when I go to open NIS it simply doesn't. It doesn't matter whether I click on the icons on the desktop, the System Tray or go through the Start menu. It simply doesn't start up. I'm pretty sure it's working OK because I downloaded (from another computer) the latest virus definitions and installed them with no problem.

But why can't I open the application? Is it some sort of known bug, and can I correct it easily?

Control Panel... Remove software

then reinstall it.

Same problem?

Yes - same problem I'm afraid.
