Norton Internet Security 2008 Toolbar problem

  achilles123 10:54 28 Jan 08

Running NIS 2008 with no problems BUT the anti-fraud section of the Norton Toolbar permanently shows "Page Not Analyzed". This is in both IE7 and Firefox So far Symantec have not been able to de-bug this. Anybody got any suggestions please?

open up norton does it show in need of "fix" if so hit the fix button. try liveupdates an update may not have loaded correctly if so goto norton support web site and run the web based fixit tool.

Thanks Sunny S. Done all that with no result. The fixit tool did find and allegedly fixed a problem, but no change to performance

last options left are reinstall nis or go to web online live chat in the support section.

forgot to mention have you rebooted since the failed fix, if not try it.

Yes re-booted. Trying re-install now.

Stripped NIS out completely, cleaned the registry of orphan Symantec, Norton &c. entries, re-booted and re-installed everything. It's now working. I haven't a clue as to what stopped the phishing toolbar from working other than possibility that a registry entry was altered by something else
