...loading/browsing web pages.

I have a broadband connection, and I can have downloads running whilst having my NIS 2005 firewall active.

However I can't get a page to open in Internet Explorer - however as soon as I disable my NIS firewall, everything is fine.

In Norton.

Check your Personal Firewall settings.
Set firewall to medium.

Then check in Programs that Internet Explorer is not 'blocked' or any other programs relating to microsoft.

See if this helps.

Suspect you may have more NIS/Symantec-related problems in the future, so the Search facility at Symantec may come in handy click here. That's how I found the above links ; ) Good luck, G

,think its due to latest NIS update(common clent files) which buggers up email and browsing.I uninstalled and reinstalled NIS which worked, have a look at Lettervanmans last entry or two.
Its another Symantec cock up,basically.
