Norton Firewall not disabled but showing icon?

  Mysticnas 16:24 25 Jun 03

Hi again all! how are you all? enjoying the summer sun?

ok the problem, sometimes when i boot up or restart the pc the Norton Firewall icon in the system tray (the globe icon) has a cross on it, basically telling you it's disabled. However when i right click to enable i find that it is infact enabled. Strange eh? well i have to disable then re-enable to get the icon correct.

Whats causing this icon to display incorrectly.

Also i've noticed that when i try to update, there's been no updates available over the past 2 weeks or so (i think).

Could all this be linked? have i some kind of dodgy uninvited stealth virus or trojan on my system???

I've scanned using Norton AV, Swat It and Tau Monitor. All have revealed nothing.

i suggest you contact symantec at click here and ask them via email support. there is some other info on there which you may find more useful than me.

Umm, I had this after the dodgy NPF update v6.04, check if you have it?
