I am about to replace NAV 2003 with NAV 2006 on Wndows XP Home SP2, but have read somewhere that there may be a conflict with Zonealarm which I've had for years alongside NAV 2003. Does NAV 2006 include a firewall which makes ZA unnecessary ? Can anyone help please ? Many thanks

NAV2006 has no firewall - NIS2006 (Norton Internet Security) does, and includes NAV in the same package.

Depends what you want - I've used NAV & NIS for years without problems, but some folks hate it. Never used ZA. Some folks swear by it

Some folks say it is never a good idea to use 2 firewalls at the same time.

I run NIS 2005 (with adaware & spybot as free software), and my router has its own basic firewall.I disable Windows firewall. Never been infected with anything nasty at all.

You have to follow instructions carefully if you install a new version of NIS over an old version of NAV.

As a former long time user of Norton products (started with Norton version 5 back in days of Dos & changed until Norton 2005)
I would suggest you look at something other than Norton AV it is resource hungry. Have a look at Bit Defender available on this months PCA CD & use it in conjunction with Zone Alarm.
Combination works well.

I use Norton A/V 2005 and Zone Alarm Pro with XP-SP2; no problems.

I am running NAV 2006 System Works which incudes NAV 2006 and Zone Alarm(free version) without problems.
Make sure you uninstall NAV 2003 completely before installing 2006
