Norton antispam causing emails to hang

  Botch Casually 11:12 24 Jun 04

when I download my emails the process stops at a particular email, say number 23, the system then times out. I have to use my ISP's system to remove the email at the server - a slow business.
I have found that turning Norton antispam off cures the problem but I then get overwhelmed with junk. Until recently the system worked faultlessly. Any suggestions, (thr Norton help site was useless).

Try mailwasher from - it is free for one account and very effective. 'Doesn't solve your Norton problem, I know, but it is a workaround.

Thanks but I tried that with no result which is why I am so puzzled looking at previous threads that seems to generally cure this type of problem.
