Norton Anti Virus error

I have removed Norton Systems Works from my computer to get rid of Norton Anti Virus which I
suspected (correctly) of slowing down the computer. All the files were niot removed however.

When I open MS Word 2003 the ollowing error message appears:

'Norton Anti Virus 2005 does not support the Repair feature, Please uninstall and reinstall'.

I have tried the Search function to locate undeleted Norton files in order to delete them:
none appear even using the search hidden files option.

Any suggestions as to how I can resolve the problem. The o.s.is MS Windows XP Pro.

Thanks.

The most common cause of this message is when the Start menu items for Norton have been moved or deleted. Yours will have been deleted when you uninstalled. But true to form Norton has failed to uninstall correctly. I often wonder how they are able to get away with this useless uninstall that they put in their programs.

To uninstall completely you need to download this utility click here from the Symantec site. Hopefully that will cure your problems.
