non raid cards

i have a non raid pci ide adaptor card, i have installed the drivers but it still is not recognising my extra hard drive and dvd drive? i am running xp home!

with some bios, you need to enable to access user flash area

These cards have their own bios.

I run a Promise TX2 controller and have the boot drive (the one with Windows) as master on IDE1 on the card with a slave hanging off the cable.

From IDE2 on the card I have a third drive (set as master)

From IDE1 on the motherboard I have my optical drives (CD and DVD). It all works perfectly.

If you remove the drivers for the card from within Device Manager and then reboot, does windows offer you the new hardware wizard?

I assume that your Hard Drive is on the card's IDE1 and the DVD is IDE2. Are the jumpers on both drives set to master?

no i have got both drives running off the same ide! i have had it running before but its not playing the game any more!
