Nokia Data Suite

I have Nokia Data Suite 4.8 istalled on my Laptop. On start up the I/R is activated by default. As I run on batteries a lot, I try to run the unit as leanly as possible. I have to de activate I/R (Nokia Connection Manager) each time. My preference would be for this not to activate on start up. Loading the software was a pain as I got so many conflicts between it and XP Home. Uninstalling would be an option I would prefer not to take.....any suggestions?

I have this but installed a while back. Can you check to see if something is starting up with your Laptop??

Start Menu, Run..., Type msconfig and hit enter.

then check the startup tab for anything Nokia related. Uncheck it and reboot.

If you go to the Nokia Website you can download a later version of the Data Suite that works better with XP. When you install, choose the option for serial port connection, not IR connection, should work okay from there.
