no wi-fi after windows update

My wireless connection stops working after the windows update (software distribution service 3.0). I have to do system restore, which fixes the problem. But do i need this update? and if it is critical how can i resolve the issue with the wireless.
thanks in advance for any advice.

Have a look at the topic "No internet connection after XP service 3" if you have Zone Alarm.

If you`re using a D-Link DWL-G122 USB wireless adapter there is a known problem. Solution available from D-Link is a new driver. There is however a workround if that driver isn`t for your version of the adapter. (Post Back if this is required)
