No taskbar items

  beauchampboiler 16:13 22 Oct 08

When I start up, none of the task bar icons appear for volume control, Nvidia settings etc. I've just got the clock. MSCONFIG tells me that the programs are still loading at startup, as does Autoruns and windows still starts at the same speed it always has done, which suggests that the programs are still loading, but not displaying their task bar items. I'm running Windoes XP SP3.
Any ideas?

has the taskbar locked? right click on the taskbar and see if it has a tick in it - if it does take the tick out.

Right click the Taskbar and click on properties.Customize.Current items.Click on one of the current items and on the dropdown bar make sure Always hide is on it.ok.Apply.Ok..That should do it.

Sorry, the problem appears to have come back. I tried buteman's suggestion and when I got to the customize box, no current items were displayed.
