NO sound after format???

  kane_2001 09:22 23 Sep 07

Running windows XP, just formatted drive and windows media player cannot play any files as there is "NO device to play sound on". Not sure what sound card is installed or if it is on board sound but never had this problem before. Is there any prog that will tell me what sound is installed and where to download drivers for it from? Or any other ideas. tried going through device manager etc and other options but doing my head in now

If you have the motherboard's driver disk then install sound drivers from that.

Thanks Terry for the drivers link but can someone tell me how to install them or change the current ones when I have downloaded them ( sorry, not a technical person )

When you have downloaded the drivers. You open the folder or unzip it, depends on which format it comes to you and you click on the exe of the driver.

The rest should follow.

Are you sure you have the right drivers?
