No Sound after Driver Upgrade

I have a MSI KM2M Combo MOBO with onboard sound ( Realtek ALC650).

I just downloaded the VIA 4 in 1 driver and installed it from the MSI homepage to find that my computer now has no sound from any jack, back or front panel.

The via driver set does not include sound however!! It should just have been the following:

IA Registry (INF) Driver is to be installed under Windows. The driver will
enable VIA Power Management Controller.

VIA AGP Gart Driver is to be installed if you are using an AGP VGA card.
VIAGART.SYS will provide service routines to your VGA driver and interface
directly to hardware, providing fast graphical access.

VIA ATAPI Vendor Support Driver enhances compatibility with IDE devices.

VIA PCI IRQ Miniport Driver installs under Windows 98 only. It will
improve the PCI IRQ routing sequence.

Any suggestions on what killed the sound? And more importantly how to get it back??

Cheers in advance.

What is happening in device manager? Are all your sound devices present and enabled ? Have you tried re-installing your sound drivers ?

OK - sounds obvious, but check all the sliders in volume control. Make sure all are selected / not muted.

Also which chipset drivers version did you use, latest is VIA Hyperion drivers V4.51 click here
