No Sound

After reinstalling Windows 7 I now have the problem of no sound, I get a post beep but this is from a dedicated speaker.

System is as follows
Gigabyte mobo - GA-P55-UD4 bios F9
2X 500GB Sata drives in Raid 1
Sound card-Creative XFI Extreme music SB0460
Sapphire 5850 graphic card

I've tried to download drivers from Creative but installation fails with notice "the Windows OS on this computer is not supported by this product".

So I plugged the cables into the onbord sound card and enabled that but still no sound, Ive even swapped the speaker system from my daughters PC and can't even get a sound from them and I know that works.

Do not know if you can help but I am stuck, Ive tried every thing I know to do and now am just floundering.

select the dowloaded drivers-> right click on properties -> select XP compatibility mode. Install and follow instructions.

Thank you so much, I have spent the better part of 6 hours trying various things without success and it never occurred to me to try and run in compatibility mode.

If I where you I'd buy my self a drink.
