No Sound.

Hiya you lot.
I got no sound whatsoever, Tried other speakers & headphones in sockets. Been into control panel & all the settings that my limited ability could muster, so before I rip my box to bits to check out sound cards or whatever is in there I would appreciate any troubleshooting tips. I don't go into sound settings to change stuff as it always worked fine.

Check your sound device's entry in Device Manager, see does it report any errors, Herestomo.

Make sure you haven't accidently muted the sound by inadvertently hitting one of the multimedia keys that might be on your keyboard, children and pets are good at that.

Go to Start>Settings>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>General tab.

More often than not, from the General tab, Mute has been Enabled. Disable/untick it.

Also ensure that your sound device is the Default from the Audio and Voice tabs.
