No Screen Saver

My screen saver has disappeared. The window shuts down at the appropriate time, and I have tested it by setting different time intervals and with different screen savers from the Control Panel, but no screen saver appears any more, just a blank, black screen. I'm using Windows XP with Avast and Windows own Firewall. The problem occurs on or offline.

Long shot here - maybe possibly the path to the screensaver files has been changed or corrupted. It might work if you try the My Pictures Slideshow option instead.

Click Start - Help. Click Index and scroll to screen (computer screen). Scroll down list to screensavers - highlight and click Display. You will get all information you need

I have worked out for myself that my screensaver was due to kick in only AFTER my screen shut down in Power Options i.e. screen shutoff 5 mins, screensaver 10 mins. Oh dear what a dope!

Thank you tho for your help :-)
