Hi - just bought a new pc and I did not receive any recovery disks with it - should these come as standard? What do I do if i need to reinstall Windows?
If they should be standard, do i complain to PC world who sold me the pc, or Hewlett packard?

Which HP model?

Select your model number here, and all the device drivers can then be downloaded. Make sure you burn them to a disc for safe keeping.

It's just possible you have your Recovery Image on an hidden partition on the HDD. What procedure does the manual advise for Recovery?

HP put a recovery partition D on the hard drive and you can go into PC_Doc to create a recovery disc for emergencys.

got all the info I needed - turns out it has a partition and HP doesn't automatically provide discs with these - thank you everyone! These forums are a really excellent source of information, especially for newbies like me!
