No power to laptop

Hi all

I have a 4 year old laptop that is used for storing all my music and photos (just bought a brand new one for everything else) and its knackered.

The light on the charger/adaptor comes on normally, until you plug in into the laptop, at which point it goes nuts and starts flickering away.

I thought it might have been the adaptor, so bought a new one, but the problem continues.

The battery has not held a charge for over 18 months, and I have tried taking the battery out, but it makes not difference.

Has anyone got any advice on what it might be and how I can cure it.

Thanks

Linds

Bad Motherboard Connection or Power supply Socket that you plug into. If you bought this take it back for repair or other.

If you find cost of repair is too high, all is not lost.

remove your hard drive and buy an external caddy (hard disk enclosure)click here to put it in you can then connect this to your new laptop an retrieve all your music and photos
