No Monitor Signal

Actually shut my P.C down for once over new year to give it a breather and now if I try to start it up as before I'm getting a message on the Monitor saying No Connection Check Signal.Heres what I know for definite. No beep when switched on. All lights working, Fans Working. Unplug monitor from Mains then start up it works. Switch monitor of with button on front of monitor it works. i've read it could be this that and the other but its gets a bit technical after that for me so any help greatly appreciated many thanks

The fact you get a message "No Signal" shows the monitor is working.

You are missing the signal from the PC to the monitor.

No beeps seems to rule out memory and graphics card problems which is usally the case. Check the cable fron the PC to the monitor is not loose or has bent pins.

Feel free to call me stupid after this. The connector on the back of the tower has 15 pins. The cable from the monitor has 14 pins.Looking at the diagrams i've found the pin thats missing is the no connection pin.
