no internet connection

Good evening, can anyone advise me please.
My friend has just moved house and taken her existing btnumber with her, she has connected everthing up (ethernet) but cannot connect to internet, before I go over there, the question is: does she have to advise bt broadband that she has moved house? or should she be able to connect without having to advise btbroadband, i should say all phone lines work fine throughout the house, I will check all obvious things like filters router etc when I get there tomorrow.
any advice would be appreciated

Yes, she certainly does - the number may be the same, but the line into/from the exchange is not. BT need to enable it for broadband.

Yes the new line will need to be BB enabled and the old one stopped.

As she clearly advised BT that she wanted to take the number with her you might have thought they would check whether she had existing broadband.

Yes, I know they're different departments.................... :@)
