Open the case and check all leads are in securely, one may have become loose.

What operating system do you have?

What sort of OS disk? recovery, full disk or what?

Better still - after switching off at the mains (v important for safety of components - not you!). Take out each cable end of the cables to the drive, one at a time, and refit them.

If that doesn't work, consider fitting a new data cable to the drive - it's very straightforward.

Try a new Ribbon cable on the Hard Drive

Taking you literally - Do you mean that the computer stops at this message and won't boot as far as Windows?

If that is so, does the hard drive light come on?

If you can give a few more details it will give everyone more clues as to what might be wrong.

also check in the bios that hard drives are set to auto detect and for some reason havent been set to NONE.
