No floppy drive

  jhm 13:39 25 Jun 06

Have just acquired a newer PC that has no floppy drive. Can anyone tell me how to get around things like Norton Ghost boot disk and MS Backup restore facility both of which ask for a floppy to complete the job

Don't know about Ghost but Acronis permits boot disks to be made on CDs.

If you have an independent backup (Ghost) why do you need to use MS Backup?

There are ways around this problem, later versions of Ghost can stay with CDs.

Why not fit a floppy drive? they have never been cheaper and though the use of a floppy has nearly disappeared it is not dead yet if only for the solution to your problem.

Also you can will be able to use any old floppys you may still have.

If you don't want to install a floppy in your machine you could always go for a usb floppy drive.
