No Firewall.

I run Windows XP with Works Suite 2002. I have just upgraded my AVG Free to the latest AVG Free 8. I am shown a warning when I connect to the internet that my Firewall is not running. I have checked the Windows Security and it tells me that the Firewall is on. How can I sort this anomaly out please?

unfortunately, the XP firewall only works in one direction, whereby most work both incoming and outgoing.

It may well be that AVG detects this, therefore warning you that no firewall is in existence.

I would suggest using Zone alarm (Free version) I found it first class with XP.

Thanks for email.
However it helps to put question in the original thread, thereby enabling anyone with similar problem to view.

I suggest you try this site to download zone alarm.

I never had any problems when I ran it on XP.
