No display on monitor

When booting up PC, monitor shows green light but this quickly changes to red and I get no picture. I have tried plugging and unplugging the power cable, and I have also removed the graphics card and reseated it, still no picture. Not sure if it is a problem with monitor or graphics card.

before this problem occurred ?

Do you have a neighbour or a good buddie who you can borrow his/her monitor to plug into yours to test ?.

Also before you do this, if you have an internal Modem, remove this and try it again as I have seen modems block and disable VGA IRQ's.

But best bet is to try another monitor of a friend's on your pc base unit.

Or try your monitor on another PC. Substitution of the monitor (easiest) or graphics card is the only way to find out which one is misbehaving.

Thanks guys, I'll take the monitor and try it on another pc and let you know the outcome. Thanks for responding so quickly.
