no default gateway

Ive a got BT wireless 2091 router and i can connect to the internet through the ethernet connection, but i want to use the usb port instead. When i try and use the usb port the message no default gateway comes up. How do i fix this ?

Have you installed the USB router drivers?

I just used the setup disk that came with the router, and selected the usb option. Ive also got a laptop connected up wirelessly to it.
