No browser on my neighbours system works.

I’m trying to download antivirus software etc to fix my next door neighbours pc’s instability, but every time I click the firebox icon, nothing happens. If I click the explorer, it will try to load up, but then the browser crashes and a dialog box appears and says…explorer as stopped working?

Ive noticed a 3rd browser on the system; it was hidden in the desk tray. When I open that explorer opens and the browser searches the web, but crashes before I get chance to download the stuff I need.

The pc has no antivirus apart from what came with the system and now has expired. I need to download software, but how with no browser?

Can I fix explorer?

The laptop is a Acer OS vista. No partition or disk to reformat.

You could download the programs on your pc and put them on a usb stick and then install them on your neighbours pc.

No partition or disk to reformat

Tried tapping F8 or F5 at initial boot to see if menu comes up? Repair partition is usually hidden.

Make a Vista repair disk see here tfor details and download

MAke a bootable AVG rescue disk see here to scan for and eliminate viruses etc.
