No BIOS bootup display with DVI input

I have a self built PC using MSI 645E motherboard, 1.7GHz Celeron, ATI 9000 Graphics card and 60Gb Maxtor hard drive. The operating system is Windows Me. I recently purchased a Samsumg SM152T TFT display with both VGA and DVI inputs.
If I boot using the Analogue VGA input I see a boot up screen with the MSI logo on it - which quickly flashes by - but this does allow me to press the DEL key and enter the BIOS.
However if I use the Digital DVI input I see absolutely nothing until the Windows screen with all the sounds and logos arrives.
Anybody have any suggestions on how I can a BIOS enter screen with a digital display?

It could be the digital output is not activated until Windows has loaded.
