No auto shutdown with WinXP !

I have happily accepted XP's message at TurnOff "Its now safe to turn off your Computer" ever since I installed XP in Feb, and turned it off at the mains. My mate set me thinking when he said his turned off automatically....with time to investigate this w/e I have followed the details from the MS Know.Base article on the issue
1. Enabled APM support
2. Found that my computer is not ACPI compliant
(no drivers shown in hidden devices)
3. Enabled NTAPM/Legacy Support

it shuts down automatically....
AND THEN ...automatically restarts again !!

Any suggestions please....before I disable APM support and go back to where I came from !

Have you had a poke around in Power Options/Advanced in Control Panel? There are a few options as to what your power button does.
