No Anti-Virus warnings in SP2

I have resloved the problem with my firewall and SP2 in another thread but I am wondering why when I disable my anti-virus program I don't get a warning in Security Center like I do with the firewall?

For example when I disable my 3rd party firewall I get a warning in Control Center saying 'FIREWALL OFF' with a recommendations button to resolve this problem.
In the Security Center it still says Virus Protection on even when it isn't.
Any advice anyone please?

AV vendor is?

Sorry my anti-virus vendor is McAfee - namely McAfee VirusScan 8.0

I am not sure if it is normal for the 'Security Center' to still show that my 'Virus Protection' is still ON even when I have delibrately DISABLED it to test the new SP2 monitoring feature.
