Nintendo DS, WiFi Max dongle problems

  aca 18:35 23 Mar 07

Tryiing to get dongle WiFi Max to work. Followed all the troubleshooting. My last try before returning.

The DS can find dongle but cant connect to internet. I connect via wired modem/router this connection is shared. I have tried switching off sygate. My questions:

If setting the IP configuration manually on the DS should I point it at my modem/router or my Internet Provider?

Any other ideas to try appreciated.

Should connect straight on, let the router do everything on auto

Do you have a WEP or WAP security code on your router?

I am trying to connect my DS to my home ASUS router which is unsecured and open. Although the DS can see the router it cannot connect to the internet through it.

But in my office I have a Netgear router and the DS works great getting internet through that.

I have been emailing Asus technical support for two weeks, to NO help whatsoever. OF course, things would be a little more straight forward if the support staff spoke English and have heard of a Nintendo DS!!!!

I'm now left believing the ASUS simply is not compatible with the DS, something I have read about before with other routers.

If you find an answer please let me know.
