Newly installed BT Home Hub 3 - poor signal strength

  tamsin 16:38 14 Sep 11

Am running WIN 7 64 BIT and have today installed a BT Home Hub 3. WiFi signal is very poor. (1 1/2 bars only) Have Belkin Wireless G Card in computer and previously used it with Netgear DG834G router with very good signal strength. Do I now need to disable the Belkin card in order for the BT Hub to produce a decent signal? If I do need to do this - how can I disable the card? Any help would be appreciated.

The Belkin card is detecting your wireless signal. Maybe the HH3 wireless signal is lower power, try moving the hub if possible closer to the PC. Ideally it should be plugged into your incoming BT socket. You could try changing wireless channels from the default Channel 6 but I doubt it will make a difference unless you have another nearby wireless hub interferering with your signal resulting in drop outs. If not and you can download etc a stronger signal will not improve your speed. I have 5 bars but only 1600kbps.
