New[ish] R300 needs a service!

This R300 is a service replacement acquired in June.
It is on its 3rd set of carts and has I guess printed in the region of the equivilent 50 A4 sheets of images on the InkJet transparency setting.
The is current set of carts is about a month in and has had yet little service.
To day I got the nag - cant recognise the Carts.
Removing them and reinstalling them after SSC utility was actioned- sorted it.

I am now getting the 'Printer needs service'
nag- surely not all ready!
I am going to browse 'Fixyourownprinter' to see if any remedy is on offer there
Meanwhile - How do you Reset a young printer?
Retting the counters under SSC so far has not fixed it.

Check the SSC website for new version 4 of the utility, if you look at the compatability chart you will see the note below for the R300 and R310

** - NOTE! It is impossible to reset ink counters by software methods on these printers.
Use "ink freezer" function to maintain current ink level and "hot swap" to use refilled old cartridges.
Or use additional device. <- (Whatever that is?)

Could be one of the continuous ink feed devices.
